Optical interconnects to chips – why and how
High-performance information processing is increasingly limited by getting enough information on and off electronic chips. Optics can solve the limiting density and power problems, though we need different approaches from previous optical communication systems. This tutorial given at the IEEE Photonics Conference explains why, and how we can transform performance.
