Modern Physics for Engineers and Scientists
A textbook and a full set of online videos give an introduction to the modern physics of quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics that underlie much of modern engineering and science. All of this material is openly and freely available online. Taken together, these give a complete introductory course, suitable for individual study or classroom teaching. These are written to suit a wide range of scientists and engineers at an introductory college level. They give the student a basic understanding of these powerful ideas and the beginnings of their applications in modern materials and devices and topics such as solar energy, as well as key concepts that underpin much of physics and chemistry.
