Optics in computing

David Miller has investigated the many ways in which optics can help with information processing. His research has included the possibilities and challenges of optical logic, the technology and physical justifications for optical interconnects inside machines, and emerging possibilities for a new class of analog optical processing based on interferometer meshes in integrated photonics.
